Question RS Motor Mounts Look Cheesy ???

I just got my RS motor mounts from Sunset. Does anyone know why these look so cheesy?

It's probably just an asthetic thing, but this is totaly unexpected from Porsche.

Did I mess up with this purchase?

Sorry I do not have a pic of these yet.

Thank you for your input.

I installed my RS mounts quite a few years ago. Nothing jumped out at me as cheesy, but aesthetics are in the eye of the beholder. Is there something in particular that doesn't seem right?

And they work as advertised, definitely better than the original damper design.

I'm probably not using the right terminology, but the finish on the body appears to be like a "poor casting". I can take a pic of them later and contrast to the oem.

Personally I couldn't care less about the appearance. First, it's an engine mount and second, you can't even see it without sticking your head in there.

If it really bothers you, just spray it with a little metallic silver. I did that, only because I had some Wurth silver within arms reach. Now my engine mounts match my wheels. Woot!!

Oh yeah, it's a cast surface. Flat gray, definitely different than the part it replaces.

And it will clash with the triangular spacers that fit under the bolt heads.

You could polish it up or paint it to improve the look. I left mine as-is, and just live with it looking slightly out place.
