Still looking. Any referrals appreciated...

- high standards car, no stories
- low mileage, low ownership history
- ideally individual seller, but will consider dealers
- C2 or C2S
- black interior, consider all exterior colors
- manual, coupe
- strongly prefer unmodified car, consider reversible changes

There are a few cars I am considering, but still waiting to find that special one... Thanks, jbtrichel@aol.com or PM

If you're OK with NB, why not '96 as well?

It looks like Truspeed moved to their new location. And are down to one salesperson, Brack Roederer. Helmet155, what's the new place like?

Also they have a different way of making pics. They used to list big, oversized files that really showed everything clearly (even though they were not very slick and used too much flash, etc..)

Now they are way too photo-shopped and look really weird. And much smaller file sizes.

They still have a pretty nice inventory.

There are 3 sales guys now. Scott is gone.

Brack, Terry and another guy who I didn't meet...

Tor is doing the service manager stuff.

They are going full service and branching out from air cooled P-cars...more maintenance, repair, etc.

Their newer pics are better in a way - better lighting...but smaller which is retarded (as in going the wrong way). They don't look photoshopped to me, just shot with an expensive camera and lighting that is softer...as if from light boxes and strobes.

The facility is nice, they can keep all their inventory inside. I am on the brink of buying my C2s or C4s and wanted to get a good look at two cars there.

I work about 5 minutes away in Fountain Valley/Costa Mesa off the 405, so if anyone needs a rennfax, give me a shout.

By photoshopped I mean a lot of post processing. And in an awkward sort of way. And too much unsharp masking

Sorry to hear that Scott is gone. He seemed like a decent guy.

There's a lot of family money behind the place, and they are lucky to be able to sit through the current climate.

Scott is the guy I dealt with when I was looking for my 993 (ended up buying from a private seller). What happened to him?

I don't know, but I hope he's okay. He seemed like a really up front sort of guy. But the last I spoke with him, he was struggling due to the drop in sales.

This is my first post as I am new to rennlist; however, I have received help from several of the members over the past 30 days.

While it is not a C2, there is a nice 97 C4S with 17k miles for $59K in Tampa. I came close to making an offer last July when it was priced north of $63K. The guy was very good to work with and wanted to sell it. It is now listed again on cars.com. There is also another person in California who was trying to sell a 97 C2S that was black/cashmere with 13K miles a couple of months ago... I have followed that car over the past couple of years when it was sold by an individual in Chicago.. It is a great car, but not sure if it is still listed. I spoke with this owner in May when he had it listed on cars.com or autotrader.
I ended up buying a 98 C4S with 16K miles black/black instead.

Uh oh, two low mileage wide body freaks ... in the same TX town! You two should meet.

Jackson, PM me your email address and name and I will add you to the DFW 993 email list. While I may not make it this time, you should check out the Cars and Coffee Saturday morning at Classic BMW.
