You might want to post it here too, since only members can access the FS section.

I'll be interested in the splitters.
I already have the RS tail.

Here's a dumb question: do RS splitters extend below the height of Gert's Front Protection Bar? If I have one, do the splitters effectively bypass the FPB, leaving the splitters free to scrape? If I just do an RS rear spoiler and skip the splitters, at what speed does the car become "wildly unstable" due to no front spoiler (splitters)?

1. They do not.
2. They do not.
3. My neighbor tried this body set up at Willow Springs raceway in Lancaster. Although the RS splitters are small...they do the job. His car rotated in the turn 8 sweeper at about 120 mph. Was it oversteer due to the splitters? maybe..I have the 993 RS set up and my car is rock solid through this section of the track. BTW, the next week he ordered the RS Tail

Note that the factory says that the full 993RS set up, front splitters RS side skirts and RS tail, the body has 0 lift at 170 mph. With the standard stock aero set up the rear is supposedly 200 Lbs lighter...similar to what one would experience with a duck tail on the car. Lots of speculation here other than the factory figures.

Finally, suggest you buy the factory polyurethane splitter, they will not crack with a light impact and they hold paint well. I have had mine for 7 years...they have held up well after a few off track excursions...

Chuck, we both know you will never be contempt with half the RS kit:-)

You'll go nuts every time you look at the car.

Smile You have to have the ...

side skirts too. It is part and parcel of the PACKAGE!!!!

If you want they 0 lift at 170 mph, you'll need the side skirts along the the front splitters and RS Tail. You know you want this!!!!

Depends on your def of RS splitters.

True RS splitters have a separate 3 piece set of chins. The FPB replaces the middle of the 3 and is relatively flush w/ the 2 side pieces.

They say, "Never bring a knife to a gun fight", and never disagree with Bill. I dont know that I disagree, but I am confused by his post..I know it's me.

"True" RS Splitters? I have factory RS Splitters. I got them from Gert and hope they are "true". There are also some trim tabs (Also from Gert) that can be added...if you have these, the FPB wont work...it will be in the way.

What you are calling trim tabs(there are 3) are an integral part of the aero package for an M002 993RS, in the pic I posted the center one has been replaced by a FPB, the stock M002 RS right chin piece is seen next to the FPB

Your attached pic is showing the center and right one

Smile I have all three...

the FPB sits in a corner in the garage, somewhere. When I drove the car on the street, and finally took it off to install the complete "true" 993 RS package, I was surprised how many dings there were on the Gert FPB. No more street for me...so the FPB could go.

Thanks for all your continuous great input Bill Vreeburg. You are a great asset to the 993 Board.
