Being present while others work on your car constitutes participation in said action. I know this because "I" just did a whack of work on my 95.

FWIW "I" replaced the offending bolts as well. While you're in there ......LOL!

Thanks,
I finally did mine; I couldn't live with the stink of burning oil anymore. And definitely the time to put on the Fister trumpets while you're at it.

Eagle Day sells the bolts in sets for each side/upper and lower. http://eagleday.com/993bilovaco.html

Funny!

FWIW, I replaced the upper gaskets but kept the bolts ...they came out clean, so far so good.

As for the lowers, ditched the covers altogether ...just too many stories of leaks arising after a year or so for my comfort level. Thus, I went with the Billets from Imagine Auto. They are sponsors here (support your local Rennlisters!), are considerably less than the eagleday ones, not to mention they had them on my front door (in SoCal) inside 3 days! Perfect installation, and dry as a bone, hopefully for years to come. Now if only I had a chance to look under there more often as they are beautiful!!

Mine are leaking again after the second lower gaskets replacement. Warped covers?

The funny thing is that the car loses minute amounts of oil. But, of course, it drips directly onto the hot exchangers and causes smokeouts that scare little children and small animals.

I have the upper and lower sets in black sitting on the shelf. Along with all the other crap I am sitting on. They are very nice and since I got them on eBay, relatively inexpensive.

Does anyone do (install) all four covers in billet or just the lowers?

My engine was out at that time, and this was quite easy to do :-)
