Déjà vu all over again

Déjà vu all over again
In October 2008 I had my 1981 911SC totaled in a totally random head-on about a mile from our house as I was taking my son to catch his school bus. Guy in a Honda tried to make a quick left in front of us, missed the drive way and stopped in our lane, big hit but both of us walked away sore but fine. I was very fortunate to have my wife allow an upgrade and found an exceptionally well turned out 1997 993 from a fellow Rennliser in SoCal. Car was fantastic and the drive back to Seattle was great. Imagine my disbelief last Friday afternoon as I watched a woman drive a Lexus SC coupe straight into us as we sat at a red light waiting to make a left turn. She was leaving Costco in Woodinville making left turn onto Hwy 9 and just lined up in the wrong lane and accelerated into us, both airbags deployed and as you will see "Bob" took a pretty big hit, but once again we walked away with a couple of bruises and a scrape. Told my son that it is not very often you get to total 2 x 911s by the time you are 12! Car is on the way to bodyshop, I am not optimistic it will be repairable, kind of put a damper on the weekend. See pics below, damage from both accidents is remarkably similiar. There, I feel better now.

Very sad to hear of (and see) another nice 911 of yours get wrecked. What a crazy coincedence... I'd say you've had enough bad luck and its now time for your luck to change to GOOD.. It looks like you are taking it very well, all things considered.. Good luck with the recovery and working with the insurance company..

Thanks to all for your notes, the previous owner who I have been in contact with has pointed me towards the 959 at TruSpeed though my wife has made it clear no big upgrades if it does need to be replaced. A friend of mine locally is thinking about a salvage for a track day car as he has the resources to pull that off, will post a note when I have an update. Thanks again.

It doesn't look that bad! Get it fixed & enjoy!
I'm happy that both of you are Ok, but maybe you should see a priest & douse the car with some holly water. I'm going to stay far away from Woodinville when I'm in the 993!

Sorry to hear about it, but at least you are both ok. I've had a head-on before (with a car coming in the opposite direction), and it's no fun. Soreness from the seatbelt, tensing up with the steering wheel etc.
If it's repairable, maybe you could sneak in a front end "upgrade" (clear corners, bumberette delete etc.). Hope your insurance company is reasonable.
Good luck either way.

OK remind me that I'M driving next time we get together!
So sorry to hear about this. The good thing is, statistically, you're probably not going to have another head-on in a Porsche again. Knock on wood!
I know it's a cliche, but thank goodness you and your kiddo are OK. You can always get another Porsche.
