With the headlights turned off the fog lights are always on. When the headlights are turned on the fogs work as normal; when the switch is pulled and the high beams are off, otherwise they go out.

That's a myth perpetuated by the Dealers .... all 993's have a driving light relay to be pulled for this $5 fix ..... and there is a similar $5 trick to mod DRL's for the 996 by jumpering heated seat power to the lights ( & the dealer wants $400 to do that).
