CANCELED FOR TODAY
It's on!
We will be meeting at the Starbucks on May 17th, 10am at the corner of Rockville Pike and Old Georgetown Rd next to the Silver Diner and in front of the Toys R Us. (12091 ROCKVILLE PIKE)
We usually meet and chat in the parking lot from 10-11:15 or so, then take a spirited 45 min-1 hr drive to a lunch spot somewhere in the area ("Roy's Place" Restaurant in Gaithersburg, MD). You can show up for the "Meet" only, or do the "Meet and Drive" and not the lunch, or do all 3. per Steve..

Its that time of year again.....the spring RL meeting at Starbucks on the Rockville Pike......wow I cant believe the turn out we have had for the last couple of meets .... excess of 1000 cars.......so its always May, we need to focus our thoughts and pick a w/e and then decide if its Saturday or Sunday. I thought I would try and do this via a poll this time rather than lots of emails and trying to collate..........so choose a date then spruce up those cars and get

Oh, did you say you were planning a Rennlist Meet and Drive, and that it was May 24th, Sunday morning at 10am, and that it started in the parking lot in Rockville by the Starbucks/Toy's R Us Mid Pike Plaza shopping center, and that you had planned a cool 45 -60 min driving course that ended up at some cool, moderately priced restaurant at the drive's end?
Heck yeah, I'd be up for that!
BTW - I saw this posting on the Dorkiphus board by a guy that drives a 996 C4S:
"2009 GTG season for DC/MD/VA
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Extending an invite to the Dorki crew if interested. A bunch of us are going to start meeting for the 2009 season on a regular basis. No need to RSVP, just thought I'd extend the invite.......
10AM EST every other Sunday
The Maryland meeting point will be Mid-Pike Plaza (by the Toy's R Us parking area near the Starbuck's 11802 Rockville Pike #A).
The Virginia meeting point will be the Starbuck's on the corner of Spring Hill Road and Route 7 Westbound in Tyson's; 8520 D Leesburg Pike; Vienna, Virginia 22103)
These dates are all Sundays:
May 3rd - Virginia
May 17th - Maryland
May 31st - Virginia
June 14th - Maryland
June 28th - Virginia
July 12th - Maryland
July 26th - Virginia
August 9th - Maryland
August 23rd - Virginia
September 6th - Maryland
September 20th - Virginia
October 4th - Maryland
October 18th - Virginia "
Heck yeah, I'd be up for that!

Yeah that's the plan - to use your old route, and get it right, then end up up Roys's. What ya think?
How's 17th or the 24th?...I'm liking the 17th; isn't the 24th Memorial weekend?

You're right, Tony. The 17th it IS then because the 24th is Memorial Day weekend.
Since you're in "charge of this", pick a route, call Roy's and make a reservation for ... 25 people or so, then lets see if they come. It's my stepdaughter's 15th birthday that day, so I hope I'm allowed out to play.

Three Wheelin'
This sound good to me as a regular outing, however May 17 is my son's college graduation weekend (out of state). Will have to 'do' one of the other dates.
Have fun!!!!!!!

Hey RL's. That VA/MD schedule is what I posted up on Dorki. I'm really looking forward to reaching out to the RL community and meeting more folks on here. I usually put on some GTG's for the region and look forward to attending events other folks put together.
