Just a guess, but I bet Mr. Weiner has a work-around for the dirty joint issue.

I've been using the rod-end boots from Baker Precision Bearings for many years in applications where they are subjected to road blast dirt and water. These are somewhat unwieldy and a tight fit in some applications and locations, but they do an excellent job of protecting those expensive rod ends.

What size is needed for the boots? Was looking at the AED site and they show 5 different sizes... I have Tarrets on order and plan on installing the correct boots prior to installation.

I called AED and they said the size measurement on the boots is for the bushing bore diameter. Ira at Tarret said the bushing bore at both ends is 14mm. Anyone else have experience with this?

They seem to be the world's most expensive turnbuckles. But beautiful they are.

Dangnabit Don, is that your car? I need to tighten my rear suspension up a bit, and was hoping the Tarret toe arms were enough... please please don't tell me I need all the rest.

Yup, that's my Hippo. I didn't intend to go with ERP links, but one of the toe links was bent when I built the car, so it seemed like the right thing to do.

Since I never drove the car on the track without them, I don't have a good before/after perspective. But others have noted that the car is very predictable and stable at the limits.

I used the ERP and got them from Steve at Rennsport Systems. Huge difference in handling, especially if your current bushings are worn.

Has anyone installed the Tarret one? Any instructions/suggestions/warnings before I dive in?

Also interested in the Tarret ones, if anyone has reviews or comparisons to the ERPs?

re: Tarrett VS ERP, give Ira at Tarrett a call, I'm sure he'll help you.

I ended up going with the ERP arms + the Tarett Locking Plate kit, purchased from Ira as he had them in stock ready to ship and I wanted my car out of the shop asap. His page covers a bit about why he carries ERP in addition to the Tarrett designs.

http://www.tarett.com/items/993-964-...opy-detail.htm

+ the Baker booties (2ea. Medium + 2ea. Large)
