Default Which Video material do you use?

Hi gentlemen,

I think that it's a good think to have some videos of our Track days or training courses. Up to now, I didn't do it and I thnik I missed some good moments!

What are you using that is not too expensive for a good quality?
Some update on the latest material would be appreciated.

Cheers

Most popular and easiest to use it the ChaseCam. It is also used by a number of race teams.

Thanks Bob!
I checked it today, but it's too expensive for only occasionnal trak days. I'm keeping an eye on ebay though...

On a budget I think this is a good choice:

Just need to find a good mounting system for it.

Here's some example video from that camera to give an idea of the quality (couldn't find actual track video.)

Hope it helps, I'll be curious as to what you go with and how it works for you.

I noticed a helmet cam at Costco last week for $99 and was considering it for snowboarding.

Look over on the Racing and DE forum, and search under Aiptek. Prepare to be inundated with posts!

Use a Video camera and get a camera mount... (I'd assume you already have a video camera.) Several Camera mounts from strong suction ones for your wintow to brace or roll bar mountsed ones.

Thanks for those advises guys!
In fact, no I still don't have a video cam... I like shooting pictures and show them, but watching videos is not my favourite...except track days and DE ones. That's'why I think it's'time to start recording my laps on the Nordschleiffe :-)

This afternoon I'll have a look on the Samsung vpmx20 and an Aiptek 600.

I'll keep you updated.
Thanks for all

Good evening to all.

Here are the results of my search for a "budget" video material:

I bought a SamsungVP MX20 with a Hama suction support.
with an extra battery and a 8Gb SD memory card the total was less than 250€
here is the material:

and a video test: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueROqfQsDKs

What do you think?
All setting of the cam were std. Tomorow, I try to fine tuned these. I think I should focus manually to infinity.

Thanks for your help!

Hey Delanobe how are you doing?
I won't be in Francorchamps, I'm doing a Porsche DE in Baden Baden with some friends, and of course all happens the same week end!

Cheers

I love this thing, works well and it's cheap.

I have the wide angle. Stick in anywhere.

Looks better (water proof) and with more supports included.
Do you use it? Any track movie?

That GoPro looks very cool and for cheap-cheap.
How is the "TV Resolution"? Particularly played back on a big screen?

Not sure, I just tried it out the first time yesterday. Didn't have it mounted correctly. Next time I'll point it towards my hands more. Resolution doesn't look that good on google video looks better on my pc.
