Default 993 Turning Radius

Just bought a beautiful black 95 993. i've noticed that the turning radius is much wider than my 996. Is this normal? The car has been lowered with PSS9s and has wider than stock tires (with supposedly proper offset wheels). I don't hear any strange noises like rubbing. Your thoughts would be appreciated!

I don't know the exact difference in turning radius but I noticed the 996 could perform U-turns in tighter places than just about any car I've owned.

Yep, it's totally normal; nothing to be concerned about. The turning radius on the 993 is terrible. Consider it an eccentric quirk.

I agree. For a small car, it has a big turning radius.

No worries - pump the throttle some and you can spit it around pretty tight. Neighbors and the local constable might not appreciate, however.

F1 U-turn will get it around no problem

993: It has the turning radius of the Queen Mary II.

Guys, SHUT UP, the C4 is worse! It's like a SUV, in both ride height & turning radius.

I'm not sure the C4 is any worse?? It is bad, though. My 968 is a slightly older car, as well as bigger, and it turns tighter.

Be careful when you park, especially parallel park. That turning radius will easily bite you when you don't expect it.

Oh yea, it's worse. It feel like there are steering stops on my rack. I just drove a friends C2 today, & is turns tighter, he could not park my car, he gave up after the 5th forward/back try.

That's exactly what I thought it felt like... stops on the rack. Seeing as how my driveway is next to a lake, I think I'll pass on the F1 U turns. A couple of back and forth's is OK with me.

Turning radius sucks and is worse on a C4 and C4S. Has to do with the all wheel drive...if the front axle to front wheel angle gets to small...over time you where out the joint...especially under power in a tight turn...German engineers like making things bullett proof so they design it not to fail..keep the angle larger, ie crappy turning radius....

It's one of the first "quirks" I discovered about my 993. My 2-door Explorer turns way tighter.
And yeah, I've been bitten in a tight parking spot.
