In Germany is a 993 SpeedsterS for sale, the base is a 1991 964, the engine is from a 993 (300hp), the turbo-look is made with fiberglas...

congrats to RLer/photographer zMayne for inspiring another Speedster enthusiast!
The skinny-jeans fad continues to rage out of control
^^ Good eye, Marc

Looking for a base C2 cabriolet to do this...doesn't matter what color...we would repaint it Guards Red and redo the interior. We would upgrade the motor...not sure yet since its still in the planning stages...maybe an outlaw NA engine. Wow...an AMGfan Outlaw Speedster...nice. I'll let you know what we do...still working on due diligence. There are over 200 pieces to get to convert into a Speedster...the interior will be much easier to do since we have gone down that road with the 993tt. Chris@C2Design and I had a email blitz back and forth last night...more meetings to come.
I'm in love again...imagine that with a redone interior.

Glad you like! All I did was pick the location, then RLer zMayne made magic during his Excellence magazine photoshoot.
For anyone who wants to own full size, 4 options readily come to mind:
#1. Get Excellence issue #181 April 2010.

A close second for something readily available?
...Get his calendars (here and here), which have these images from the same shoot:
At not added cost 2 of the shots Zach gave me from his photo shoot:

You said FULL SIZE, right?!
or...
4. Make you own version of Speedy
That's what Jon Razon's doing! From the "AMGfan Porsche Speedster" thread he just started on luxury4play.com:

As with every project, I contacted Chris@C2Design and after over 40 emails last night exchanging pictures of speedster and figuring out the base car...etc...
I gave the go ahead to order the Speedster doors and the windscreen...the latter being the most hard to find. Chris said he had one parts guy laugh in his face when asked for the parts list for a Speedster conversion...esp. the windscreen which he said he hasn't seen in over 4yrs and those were damaged. Now I have the doors and windscreen coming......still looking for the clamshell, though.
It will be a long process...I still have to locate the base car... But I will enjoy the search...
A couple of things...we will redo the interior in upgraded black leather (probably use the OE Ferrari leather we used in the 993tt coupe) with red deviated stitching, add Recaro Sportser CS seats, repaint the car in Guards Red. It will be a wide body and the place providing the doors is pricing out the wide body rear quarters for us now. Oh...the rear and front bumperettes will be deleted.
As far as the engine...still up in the air. We are toying with either dropping a 993 Turbo engine in the car...running the car in 2WD...or building out the existing engine in the base car. Even the word outlaw engine was thrown around... We shall see...it really isn't a priority right now...basically making sure we have the body pieces, do our due diligence on the mechanical side, and find the good base car (more than likely a 96 or 97 carrera cab).
The goal is to have this as the end product with a classic neo-retro interior...reminiscent of the interior of my 993 Turbo build (no carpet or old hard leather). Let the fun, frustration, and wait begin...

Small world...
While I've been keeping up with AMGfan's thread on other sites & posting them here the last couple of days, guess who's started his own thread here on the 993 Forum?
Check out RL's new "AMGfan Speedster Project" thread

I am! But you knew that.
*Cough*! That's straying from the full-size subject. Seem to be some sticklers 'round here for the current thread subject.
Well, another I guess. I've made one but I can't seem to get it out of it's two-dimensional world

I've been asked to post some scale model versions of the 993 that never was.
I can't figure out how to embed them. Here are some links.
Bburago 1:18 993 by "bitl63" on auto-miniatur.de
Pocher 1:8 993 by "hrnicaise" from Caradisiac.com
UT 1:18 993 Turbo by "upgrades" from Project11.com8
Maisto 1:18 993 by "the z man" from DiecastXChange.com
A UT 1:18 993 by "Turbofan" from UTModelsFans
None of these belong to me and each are property of their respective owners.
Take care,

Seen this?
I love that car (I'm a skinny-hipped guy when it comes to 911s).
