Default Clutch Slave Cylinder Hose Twisted

Okay....So I'm replacing the clutch slave cylinder and I'm following everyone's advise and tips (as well as p-car.com's DIY). I've got the old cylinder removed and the new one screwed onto the hose (hanging ready to install). My question is: How in the heck to you install it without getting the hose twisted? I did a search and found no results on this. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. It's the last thing to complete (with a full clutch and break bleed) and then I'm back on the road again.

Install the new slave with the hose already attached. I used the new hose to pull the slave against the mounting studs in order to get a nut started. Once the slave is correctly mounted, attach the hose to the hardline.

At least one end swivels on the hose. Haven't done it in some time, but also pondered how to install the hose without twisting it until I discovered this.

I did get a new hose, but after inspection the old hose looked fine. So you are saying attach the new hose to the new slave and then install with the other end of the hose hanging free? Then attach the other end of the hose to the hard clutch line?

That is what I did and it works. The hard line nut is what rotates.

after inspecting the hose, it seems neither end swivels. Am I missing something?

Also, do you use any type of sealant on the threads of the hose? If so, what do you suggest?

Ahh! If so, I believe that will fix the twisted hose problem! Thanks!

Now.....back to swearing and taking layers of skin off my hands.

Stupid question.......what do you use to stop the flow of fluid from the hard line when you detatch the slave hose? Is there a plug I can get somewhere?

Use hose-clamp pliers on the rubber line that leaves the brake fluid reservoir.

I used an old rubber cap - the ones that cover the unused carburetor ports on my Holley.

You can use hose pinch pliers like these. Good tool to have. I needed them for bleeding the brakes (on a '95 with external vent).

okay...last question.......there seems to be 2 black rubber hoses and one blue "fabric" hose exiting the master cylinder. Which one to clamp off?
