nothing like the Jdhertz11 trip ( https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...y-new-c43.html ), but still fun....I needed a daily driver and after researching this car, I had to have it...even a previous 993 owner gave it rave reviews http://www.epinions.com/review/auto_...3940C5A7-prod6
Took the train from MD to CT at 3 am this past Tuesday. Took roughly 6 hours and stopped at about 5 cities along the way. Picked up car at dealer and had a fun drive back home. Taking the train was the only feasible options due to the dealer's location in CT.
Thanks to Jdhertz11 for helping me to investigate what seemed to about 10 -12 cars..lost count...
Some pics...suv styling, but not for long..310hp/302tq..V8 pwr and lots of fun...btw..was tired so these pics were shot in green mode..ok..oh..and 1 of only 22 (MY00) in the USA, and only 4 were imported in black...currenlty 72k miles, but not for long...
got slightly distracted by ....in the showroom...NFS..
got a history lesson on this vehicle, think they want $250k for it, originally built for Hitler..

Very nice! I have the 4 banger version in midnight blue. Makes for an awesome dd, and I don't have to worry about going over the speed limit. Nice find and good luck. Lower that bad boy!

I have to remember Not to go over, it's just so so much fun. Don't believe I'm saying this, but the only thing missing is it being a manual. This last model year is a tiptronic, so still fun...

BTW, this car got sort of a rennfax. It so happens that an MB forum member and also a pcar owner, had inspeceted and driven the car, is good friends with the dealer and also friends with kdburg. We spoke several times about the cars condition, and he gave it thumbs up.
So there, the power of rennlist again..

Nice benz and cool pics of the SCHWIMMWAGEN. I've got some friends that would love to use it as a hunting truck. It's already got the hood mounted "deer rifle" option installed.
