Default a little help with a part please

I have a hole in the rubber piece that is behind the fan and connects to the airbox, does anyone have a part number or DIY instructions to replace this part? it does not look very difficult. for the record its a 97 Narrow Body. Hopefully the picture works

thanks

Jon

Do not worry about it for the week . I am sure there is a few 993s that have gone a lot longer time with out a fix . The part just help heat escape from alternator & motor . This time of year is no problem .

The removal/installation is pretty simple, its only held down by two bolts. The rubber gets brittle after a number of years, and the blows out. The alternator fan sucks air, so the area behind the alternator is at positive pressure, and the major route for the air is downward between the cylinder barrels. As well, there are takeoffs for the heating system, etc, so having this opening should not be not any worse than having air routed into the heating ducts.

Cheers,

Mike

Default Hijacking the thread for a moment...

Jon,

Between to "Bama" in your handle and the color of your car, would it be safe to assume you spent a few years in Tuscaloosa during your youth?
