Default I can't seem to find the DIY-How to remove engine tray?

How do you remove the engine tray without a lift?

I have both the tool kit jack and a floor jack. If I unbolt the tray will i be able to remove it by jacking up both sides of the car? Anything to watch out for?

Thanks for your help!

By the way, I've searched without luck.

I was going to paste that link, but I guess you already found it.

If you just unscrew it and pull it like Cactus says, you're in for a surprise!

You need to jack the car up on both sides, or back the car onto a couple of wood planks. You need a couple of inches of clearance to be able to remove the lid after you loosen it up.

Actually it was your post Cabrio993 that alerted me and saved me from that mistake!

So only a couple of inches? Thanks!

If you remove it for good there is a receiver bracket for the tray on the back around your O2 sensor you may want to remove as well.

PS - going backwards into a merge sign at 70 mph will also remove your engine tray. Quickly.
