and as Garth suggested on page 1 of this thread, I ordered the pricier sealed joint also. We can just as easily use that joint but the part is 3x as much. So that could be an optional "deluxe RS-style shift rod". I think I am going to use the sealed joint in mine.
Just shoot an email to fdmotorsports@comcast.net so we can get a count going. I just need to figure out how many parts to order... Please specify deluxe or standard.

Personally I wouldn't spend the extra on a sealed joint because in the end, you should still use the dust boot cover. So what's the point of having a sealed joint underneath a dust boot cover?? It's a very nice piece but darn expensive.

I'm not sure the seal is worth the extra cost either but the joint itself is probably higher quality too.
In this application it might be overkill.
I'm still gonna do it
