How about these 74s:

Anybody fit these ones or do they not have the base?

Those are the one's axl911 used in warm white and they look great!

As deekay911 posted, the problem is finding the base to fit the leds into. This is where I am stuck and getting aggravated because I cannot find bases.

Do these B8s then come with bases or the same issue?

Anyone tried these B8s? They looked like they would fit.

Tried those and did not want to go in without a lot of work. Also the led is too direct. I want to use the leds that you used but need bases like you originally found.

Like aribop I cannot find the bases to make these bulbs work.

Can any of the engineers around here describe a way to use the existing bases (for the filament bulbs)?

What about the feasibility of pulling the led out of these and then using the bases?

Finally, while deekay911 points out that the "Chinese made" 74 bases are of poor quality and fit, can anyone source any bases anywhere? (I remember there was a great electronics parts store in St. Louis back in the late 80's...)

You need the B8.4D - I got the blue-white, and they are plug and play and look great.

What kind of light "spread" do you get with the direct B8.4D?
The issue I have is that I went with aftermarket gauge faces and the speedo & tach are very "spotty" with current incandescent bulbs - almost to point of not being visible at night.

What led bulbs did you use to replace the buttons on the CCU and in the ***** on the dash?

Are these bulbs: 74 LED Bulb - 3 SMD LED Wide Angle Wedge Base Part Number: 74-WWHP3 | UPC: 847781010688 a DIRECT replacement for incandescent/ filament bulbs? Specifically, can I use these LEDs in bases that currently hold filament bulbs? If not, what kind of modification will need to be done? Thank you in advance!

Hello Russell,
Yes, they should be plug & play, no modifications necessary.
Thank You

I bought the
http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...panel-led/223/

Part Number: B8.4D-WHP | UPC: 847781010404

They work great! You do need to get a key and bend the metal tabs on each side at about a 80 degree angle. If you don't the LED will fall out of the gauge. After you get it to say put it works great!

One thing to not try, don't use super glue.......

Here i changed the left 2 of gauges. I'm going to do the other 3 when I get more in.
