So it looks like I'm gonna buy Brett's engine lid for my RS spoiler. I think this is a good option so I can keep my original decklid with basket handle if I ever want to go back to stock. My friend the VW restorer says it won't be hard at all to paint the underside with all its nooks and crannies. He does excellent work--one of his customer's cars was featured in Hot VWs magazine a couple of months ago, oh, and I should mention that there's also a pic of my Beetle in that same issue. Anyway, I'm going to go ahead with the order for the RS parts. They are a month away in Germany though...
