Bill,

The 944 sliders latch on both sides.

Because the Pole Positions are wider it makes the factory inner seat belt mount push against the center console. I never had a use for the storage tray so I decided to shorten the console.
You can see my prototype and the finished product. This winter I will install a handbrake handle cover with a leather boot to finish it off.

Mike,Thanks

Do you have any of the back where you can see your handywork. The ones I took when you were over at the house are blocked by the seats.

Thanks to all, We'll i've started to get some stuff in,
I got a nice deal on a used Profi XL which is in great shape(Thanks NB!), it came w/ Recaro steel sidemounts and BK post for the tunnel side belts to snap to. So i'll try to use these, despite all the great advice you guys provided.

Now looking for another matching seat and sliders, any one have anything?

The other thing is I think that I'll paint the shells Riv Blau, so next question. How hard is it to remove the upholstery from these seats? It looks easy but I'm a bit hesitant to start yanking on things.

On the suspension upgrade all the parts except one eccentric should be here Fri. Let the games begin...

MB965, the pole position are narrower than the profi and profi XL. If the seat belt receptacle or seat was rubbing against trans tunnel, you are either using the wrong brackets and perhaps reversed them. I had multiple sets of recaro seats in my RSA and none were ever close to rub. The only time it did was when I put the passenger 996 euro GT3 seat on the driver side. Brackets were off centered and by putting passenger to driver side, they were rubbing.

See picture below. Notice on the right hand side, the bolts holding the side mount to slider is snug fit against side mount compared to left hand side. Disregard the red lines, they were there to show where sub belt mount ties in.

CWay27,
I used the Brey Krause R-9062 Side Mount Seat Adapter Kit (for Recaro Pole Position w/ Recaro Sliders).
It looks like your right mount has a smaller offset that the left mount. The BK mounts have equal offsets.
I can see that this would move the seat away from the tunnel but I did not want to move the seat further from centerline of the steering wheel that it already was.

Bill,
Sorry I misssed your post.
I bought the carpet and cut it to fit after I built up the surfaces with foam. I had a shop sew the binding on.
Let me know when you are ready to take your car apart.

Bill:

Glad the seats arrived in the condition described. Feel free to drop me a line if you run into any installation problems.

Reviving this thread for some more detail
I've collected some parts,
Recaro Profi XL
Recaro steel side mounts w/ bolts to mount to the seat
Sparco flat sliders

Some of the hardware came w/ a used seat that I purchased and some is borrowed for test fitment all can be replaced if a better solution is available

???
Any body use this combination? If so do you remember what size bolts were used between the sliders and side mounts? Between the sliders and chassis?
Just trying to save some time hunting for hardware

I'm thinking of making a sub strap bar so as to avoid drilling holes in the floor for the 6 pts subs, I have a practically infinite supply of al. and steel stock and a full machine shop. It looks doable, but space is a concern, the seats need to be mounted as low as possible and the computer has not been relocated(though it can be), any one else do this?

Feel free to suggest alternates that you have used, the only constant is that the seats have to be the Profi SPG XL

From previous posts many of you have similar setups, more details of what you did would probably help a lot(if you can provide them)

lastly BK suggests
R-9062 seat brackets but with Recaro sliders(perhaps these are interchangeable w/ Sparco sliders?

For the tunnel side seat belt anchor, R-9005

As far as a sub-strap mount, you can use the R-9031 but will need to drill the sliders

Bill,

I purchased mine from Stable Energies. Works well, but I do not need my seat too low at 5' 8".

That is exactly what I was thinking of, is the Stable Energies one made by BK? Did you need to modify or drill anything?

Hmm, so the BK R 9031 bolts to the Recaro sliders w/ no drilling, that's great, it looks like you are using 5 pt harness, how would it work w/ a 6pt?
