Here is the dash going together, of note is the dark grey, fully stitched Alacantara covered dash and the specially 9m logo'd rev counter. The door tops and centre console will also be trimmed in Alacantara, the door panels and seats have been done in leather.

... and here are the carbon/kevlar doors being built and then trimmed. The genuine RS Clubsport seats have not been finished so I can't show these yet, we are waiting on the Porsche crests being embossed into the leather headrest panels. There are also a pair of red Schroth harnesses waiting to be fitted.

Can anyone with a PET provide the part number for the plastic surround (around the sterring column) below: ? This unit is seen on the Euro cars, and quite a bit smaller than the US version. Possibly the non-airbag application?

Colin- Incredible project!

Thanks for the updates on this wild project Colin. I'd imagine the finished product will end up in one of the three (if not ALL!) UK Porsche mags. Any plans? Can't wait to see the complete project although getting there IS much of the fun for the rest of us to watch.

What's the deal with the carbon/kevlar doors? Who makes them and how do they fit?

Thanks for the thumbs up Chris (and everyone else for that matter). I have to be honest and say that it's my business partner Marc (more commonly known as "MC") who is responsible for the build of the car, the fact that he is an absolute, no-compromise, perfectionist (OCD?) reflects clearly in this job. Fortunately the car's owner gaves us the go-ahead to build him a completely "new" 9mRS so we just took him at his word. What you can't see is that every (and I mean every) nut, bolt and bracket has been re-plated or re-painted back to factory finish - even the slides for the drop glasses as seen inside the doors, we even took off all the binding of the wiriing loom and re-covered it in the original factory black cloth tape (mind you, this is a lot easier than removing the carpet glue).

Noah, the doors are the same ones I have on my RS, they are complete internal / external replicas of the factory door and are a bolt-on fit from the mould. Not cheap though, they cost around £1000 per side.

Colin, are you putting RS mats in the car or will it be built to Clubsport Specs. e.g without carpets?

And from where did you source the RS Clubsport seats?

Great to watch the progress of this project

::Colin, the car looks great with one exception. The steering wheel is on the wrong side. icon107
