Still available? Wow, I'm really surprised considering the price. Sounds like an outstanding bargain.

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys. Hopefully the right buyer that will appreciate the car comes along and snatches up.

Hey '007, a couple ???

~Were you the owner of the car when it had the top end work?

~How many miles in your 4 years of ownership?

~Re the sunroof problem, I'm assuming one just holds down the deflector gizmo with their hand and then the 'roof shuts fine?

~Are the BBS rims long gone?

thanks

I was not the owner when the top end was done

I put a little under 30K on it.

Your assumptions are correct regarding the sunroof tab

The BBS rims are long gone. However, I do have a lot of interested rennlisters wanting my Volk wheels. I'm sure the potential buyer can work something out with the interested parties.

Thanks man. I'm sure someone will jump on this one soon... might even be me

Here is a general question relating to this car and others like it I guess. How does someone pony up the quadzillions for a top end and such and then elect to NOT throw in a new clutch while you are there? I remember looking at another one (C2S, silver, in Arizona) from a Rennlister and it had 96k miles and on the orig clutch. That one had a top end done at 75k at a dealer, but they put it back together with the orig 75k mile clutch.

The fact that your car is due for a clutch would not hold me back from making an offer if I decide to go there. Like you I think it is great time for an upgrade. I'm just wondering aloud about different owners decision making process is all.

My take is that a clutch is a pretty spendy "while you're in there" item. Granted, there is some nice savings on labor ($800 - $1,200) but if the clutch is/was fine at the time of the top end, it doesn't surprise me that it wasn't replaced.

Yeah I understand the added expense of a clutch kit. But damn, a guy is already dropping at least $5500 and prolly more for a top end. And if he is doing it because he loves the car and plans to keep it, seems like he'd pony up the $800 or so for new clutch parts since you have already paid for the labor essentially.

After showing this car to the g/f, she sent me back a link saying Amazon is having a sale on clutch kits. I was like, whatever, they won't have a 993 clutch assy. Hell yeah they do, ha. I'll take one with my Harry Potter book please:
