I guess they do things a little differently in Russia.

Is that for real????????
That would cost just for the gold (40 lbs) $515k at current price.

Looks totally gawdy, IMHO ...not to mention completely 'over the top', wholly pretentious and lacking in taste.

Well I guess that's one way to compensate for 996's plummeting prices.
No way I'd take that hideous thing.

Unfortunately z Russians lack taste. Look at some Russian auto websites and you'll throw up.

It kind of reminds me of the underside of the Space Shuttle. Tasteless I know but just think how much it would weigh if this was all done in platinum.

i know its a little extravagent, a little - but that car is COOL! in the way that foo fighters music at vol 2 is pretty good, but at vol 10 kicks your butt.
however +1 on it being a 996

My guess its that they told the guy his 996 was worth nothing. They laughed at him, and suddenly he began searching for his next supercar to shut their friends. While at it,he realized 997 where so common and ''taste lacking''.Then he suddenly asked her soulmate: Honey, how would it look to make our 996 golden?
Honey: But,it is already painted silver! Him:No,seriously made out of gold.Solid Gold. Her: Ohh,i don't know...Well at least if it crashes,we can melt the gold right. Him: True :S

I am sorry,i got a little creative.IMO its interesting but repulsive. This again confirms, that having money not necessarily guarantees good taste.Don't get me wrong,it seems like a well executed job.But just for the concept. -1.My guess its that this car will only bring hate and worries to the driver.

Well, I have to admit I know little to nothing about Russian culture, but the craftsmanship of the application and engraving of the gold, as far as I can tell from the photos, is impressive. If my math is correct, the gold alone is worth $567,104 (at $886.10/oz). And being that the owner parks it on the street tells me he (or she) must be someone crooks don't want to mess with. I'm thinking Russian mafia ??
