I'm alive!
From this day forth, I shall use my 993 as dump-run car. I in no way hold a candle to some of the OCDMAX participants I saw that day. "WOW" is all I gots to say about that.
I placed 6th in my class (PPO8T) and simply enjoyed the first-time experience. There were 5 judges sifting through my rust bucket and each took the time to explain what they would do and then some of the areas I should concenetrate on in the future.
I will post a thread with pics once I get home in a few days.
993BillW - it was a pleasure to meet you!

Three Wheelin'
Well done Andreas!
As well as 'competing' - I always look upon / have the philosophy -- that these events are *PRIMARILY* a 'nice day out' for the car, the missus and I. Anything else - e.g. a 'placing' or 'best engine/wheels' etc. is gravy.
The long weekend is coming up -- so, not for nuffin' -- she's going to look 'extra special' as you drive her around -- and trust me, people WILL notice.

Andreas,
Sorry to have missed seeing you on the concours street. We stopped by your car several times... 6th isn't too bad considering the level of **** retention going on there. Hope you enjoyed the event.
I am planning on having my car at my BBQ one way or another!!!!! Come one, come all, come see....

Andreas,
Finally, it's over! Put it all behind you. Time for a DE!!
Your car looked Great, certainly as good as the 5 judged ahead of you. I was there, I know.
Objective/Subjective, whose to say. Now, you know what they are looking for, and how they assess.
Your analogy of a full physical was very accurate. Even some procedures reserved for those over 50.
I do need to come clean however. Around 6:30 AM while I was up at the square checking out all of the concours vehicles(waiting for you to finish the scenic tour), I did assist one guy move his 993 until a small blemish on the rotor hat was under the caliper. "out of sight-out of deduction".
Hope it didn't effect the final outcome. :-)
Have a Margarita!

Race Car
Several years ago I entered my then 964 in a Phoenix Concours. It spent many weekends cleaning and cleaning. Then the day came, I got there early to prep with my 4 year old car-crazy son. We waited and waited for the judges. We were the absolute last car to be judged after 6 hours of waiting. I scored well, but got dinged on studpid stuff. Never again for me. Not my thing. I would rather drive! And now I drive instead of clean.
