Geez Andreas I don’t know how you can live with yourself, placing lower in points than my un-vacuumed track car.... what a pig…. I think you need to come back over here and whip the q-tips back out. I noticed that your rotor holes were filthy; looks like you have never cleaned them. I have a gallon of brake cleaner and some pipe cleaners for you to spend the weekend with.... I think the judges also mentioned your engine was too shiny... maybe you can disassemble it and remove the sheen.

Seriously though...
Glad you came down I really enjoyed the company.....

For everyone else listening..... His car really is flawless, the score sheets just don’t do it justice. The paint, trim, motor, everything is absolutely pristine, but then got dinged major points for stupid stuff; "dust", " a hair", and sheen.

Stand by, Mister! I am still within 500 feet of where you are at the moment - and the alligator head is on this side of the street...

Thank you for your hospitality, humor, and the lint roller.

As clean as Andreas' car was and as much time and effort he obviously put into getting it ready for Parade I have no idea how he stayed so relaxed and mellow about those results, I would have had a fit! I'm attaching a few pics of the engine bay of his car only to show you how clean it was.

Andreas truly is a pleasure to be around, even when he was a little unsure of what to expect about his first concours. I enjoyed chatting with him and hope I have the pleasure of doing it again someday, I just don't ever plan on parking my car next to his, it would really look like a beater. My car stayed in the hotel parking garage, I drove it over from Nashville and didn't bother washing it when I got there (shame I know).

I'll upload my Parade photos to my Google/Picasa web albums tomorrow and post the link then.

BTW, the NASCAR/Hendrick/Penske Racing tour was worth every penny/minute of the trip, great tour. Too bad we weren't allowed to take photos at the Penske facility but we were allowed to get practically between the mechanic's and the LMPT cars while they were working on them (and a new engine was just in from Germany with the shipping container off, we got REAL close and personal to that!)

These photos are of Andreas' engine, not the Penske LMPT in case you didn't know.....

A big congratulations Andreas. From the pics I've seen of your car, it looks pretty much as if it were taken directly from the production line, cleaned and then placed in your garage. The great thing is you can present the car at this level and you drive it! You are an inspiration.

Cheers.

I'd start with the vet across the street from you...

Paticulate dirt matter in the folds between the seat cushions, grime in the engine bay, brake dust on the wheels (wtf?), etc.

Made it back home safely after nearly 9 hours of caning the rust bucket.

Cactus - your wagon looks & sounds beautiful at speed! Thanks for the road trip company.

Bill, that first picture you took of the engine makes for great wallpaper. Everytime I open up my laptop it's like opening up the engine lid to my car.....well not really mine since mine's not that clean but you know what I mean.
