Okay, let's see. 60,000 miles, two owners: one in Florida and one in California
I think it spent a lot of time in the sun in Florida. Wheel hub color is faded and the paint is a bit cooked on the left quarterpanel. There are a few scuffs and nicks in the paint, but nothing in the metal, nor any past bodywork. A respray is in the future, as I expect to hold on to this car a long time.
New clutch, flywheel, and top-end rebuild just last summer. The car was a daily driver in California and gummed itself up to where it failed the smog check. $8500 later, the owner had a mechanically new engine. While the car was apart for repair, he fell in love with the loaner Cayanne, so he bought one and sold me the 993 for $32,900. I'm happy.
The interior is slightly tired, but not terrible at all. It's light grey (leather, door panels, shifter boot), navy blue (dash pad, door vinyl, steering wheel, carpets), and black or carbon fiber for the dash and other bits. Seats are in good shape and supportive, but their hides could look better. Again, a bit of Florida sun, I think. The steering wheel is similarly tired and the horn switch is hair-trigger. In a first move to purge the navy blue from the interior, I've bought a new 996 wheel in black from a fellow Rennlister. It arrives today. As I come across more interior bits that I can afford, I'd like to get the inside to be a cool mix of grey and black, with the existing sprinkle of carbon. Anybody got a black carpet they're not using?
I come from the world of "correct" car collecting/showing, so I'm not into putting on wings and wild rims. Besides, I love the Targa wheels. That said, I'm not beyond a few upgrades. Ride height can't change as I'm already 1mm from not being able to get it in the garage. Would love a decent stereo that will take a line-in feed. I'll get around to that eventually. Radio reception is pure crap.
Options? ... very few, really. Practically none. It's a stripper. No CD changer. No seat heaters. No rear window wiper. No active differential. If I end up swapping in somebody else's light grey seats, I wouldn't mind seat heaters.
It works great, including the top. Goes like hell too. Best car I've owned since my 951. I have a couple questions, but I'll start those up as their own threads.
Thanks for all the kind words of welcome.

Oh, I thought of an option: the deal installed the "engine sound" package recently. Marvelous music!
I can't find the option code sticker anywhere. Is there a way to look that up somehow?
