Feelings on Red interior?
I realize that the ownership of a 993 is mostly based on what makes ME happy, but I have seen several very nice 993's that end up having red interiors. Not having owned or seen the interior in person, what is the general consensus on the look or wear characteristics of a red interior?

Colors as you say are very personnal choices.I've seen several Artic silverand black 993's with Boxster red interior that are rich looking, but it is not my taste.
I'm rather boring, so I stick with basic colors such as silver / black.
I can't comment on the wear characteristics of red, but they may tend to show more dirt but less dust as on black.
I think too that you limit the market when you decide to sell it, but there is always a buyer with the proper amount of time given.
The majority of the cars on the Wilhoit ,TruSpeed and Sloan inventories are primarily black, cashmere and grey interiors. Obviously, red interior are more untique.
Just my 2 cents!

Polar silver/ boxster red interior I found on the Porsche USA search site...I was hoping it would be a dark red almost as a Terra interior would look. But it looks almost like Can Can Red from the 928 interiors...

I'm a red interior person - mine is chestnut, which is a more muted sort of red. Flamenco and Can Can red are more robust (I love 'em!), while Boxster Red has more orange in it, at least to my eyes.
I believe the pigments used for any red are more susceptible to fading from direct sunlight, so I take care to hoist a solar shade on both the windshield and the rear glass whenever I park outside on a sunny day.
There is a thread buried somewhere here that has pictures of the various reds out there.
ANY car that has a red interior is sure to catch my eye.

Just bought a Silver/chestnut 993. The silver/red combo is my favorite. I believe the chestnut is a std color although I'm a little fuzzy on what other stock reds were available but the brighter Lipstick or Cancan reds are too much for me. The Boxster red is a little too orange for me. The darker reds such as Flamenco are really nice. While red paints seem to suffer more from sunlight than other colors I haven't noticed that on interiors.

I should add that there is a silver/red (I believe it is either can-can or flamenco) 993TT that has been for sale for some time now. It has pretty low miles (under 25K). This is a car and color combo I lust after.
I considered making an offer, but, the seller has it priced well over market (and seems firm on his price), and the color combo is defintely a "love it or hate it" thing (which IMO is a big reason why it has been sitting for so long).

There are very few cars I would buy with red interior. If it is bright red no way but a less shinny red maybe. To me the interior must work with the exterior. I have a friend with a 964 turbo white exterior IIRC matador red interior. Normally I would pass but I like his car combo. It is more of a sedate red with black marbling.
I guess I prefer black interiors over almost anything, so red is a stretch.

Boxster Red is more of a clay color. It's not at all a bright color - more muted. It is very difficult to photograph and get an accurate idea what it really looks like. I love it with silver cuz it screams porsche to me. I took the the interior one step further with houndstooth.
