I test drove a 96 993 with lipstick red interior, I backed the car out of the owners garage, when I hit the brakes, BAM!!! Bright RED all over, it was a bit of a shock at first.
Red isn't my cup of tea. My wife really like the interior, and it has more character than my blakc interior, but the car didn't pass PPI anyway, and the one with the black interior did, which was more critical to me.
I do like the dark interior with the red seatbelts though.

Is it an old wives' tale or doees red continuously bleed on white/light clothing?

Agreed!
No bleeding noticed, but then again, I never wear white. Black.

At first when I saw the pictures online, I didn't think I would like it.
Once I saw it up close it was much nicer then I thought it would be and the deal was done.

I happen to love red interiors but prefer the purer reds - I had a Boxster Red interior in my 996 and while I rather like it, if made for a difficult resale. Many thought it looked too pink/orange.

My all time favorite sports car color combo: dark grey exterior, bright red interior. Never had it, tho.

+1 That's a great combo. Something like the Porsche Stahlgrau (Seal Greay?) with flamenco interior (with some parts in black to tone it down a bit).
