Default Recommend Gas??

Here's another dumb question from a first time (and very happy) 993 owner - regular C2 I hope that it doesn't open up the same "can of worms" that the oil question did!

The previous owner told me that it was impertative to use only "Super" grade gas. I respect his opinion but thought I'd ask what the norm was with my fellow 993 owners

Any info. you can provide will be most appreciated, as always.

Matt from Boston

I always use shell 93.

I'm sure the answers will vary by region.

Sunoco "Ultra" 93. I have no idea what makes the "Ultra" so ultra, except for a few more pennies a gallon. I've actually had my car sputter on Lukoil 93 and avoid that gas like the plague. I never fill up at a generic station. On a side note, NJ is a full serve state and a friend had her car filled up at a local station. The tanker accidentally put diesel in the regular storage tank and the distributor had to replace 20 ruined car engines, including my friend's Durango. Can you imagine trying to get a gas distributor to pony up $25k for a new 993 engine?

Google Top Tier Gas and pick from the list of top tier providers.

Chevron and Mobil mostly, but based on above, I will give Shell V a try.
Premium only.

Methane.

Seriously - +1 on 93 from a high volume supplier. High test gas at a low volume supplier can sit in their tanks for longer than is desirable.

Yes, you must use premium gas. <<I wish that guy was not frowning - I don't intent to appear angry at you!

I use Chevron exclusively because it has Techron.

Welcome to 993 ownership!
