Try a RHD car, the off set is even worse!

If you look at the top of the headlight lens, the right side is numbered 1 and the left side is numbered 2. This is top dead center on the outside of the headlight lens.

Immobilizer?...if your car is already unlocked, when the key is in the 'on' position you only have to hit the immobilizer button once to get the car to start.....maybe everyone knows this but I always used to lock and unlock the car every time to get it started until I figured this out

An old guru taught me this. The quickest way to check if an old school 911 has ever been banged is to check its rain gutters on both sides. Gently slide your thumb and index fingers through the whole rain gutter at the driver side, then the one at the passenger side. If both gutters are smooth, then most likely the car has not been banged before, or at least not seriously banged.

Then, if you have time, a slow way to check the same is to use a tape measure from the center of the left front wheel to the center of the left rear wheel. Write down the number, then use the same tape measure to gauge the distance between its two right wheels. The number at the left should be dead equal to the number at the right.

I guess its depends on when they ran out of what parts....
I ran across a '97 that had a keyed cam on one side, non-keyed on the other. The cam gears were both non-keyed, new style. I don't have the mfg month handy but they must have been nearing the end of "old" inventory or happened across old stock.

Getting a bit esoteric but most of the neat stuff has been taken

The best seats that the 993 ever had were only available in 1995. They were full leather, soft back sport seats. I found a pair in great condition. If you want sport seats then try to find these!

Those two red leather seats in your avatar look much more comfortable!

BTW, those seats look identical to the one in my 1996.

The headlight assemblies are remarkably easy to remove. It only took me 3 years to figure this one out.

The "early" US version of the '95 did not have SAI, indicated by Option Code 718. Curious to know where the cut-off occurred and SAI was installed. Was it somewhere around VIN 321500?

177MPH,

In the Porsche factory video on the 993 it is shown to close the hood with the fingers, and then to press on the Hood Badge to fully close it! I think the Porsche factory must have designed it that way!

That the way aha aha, I like it!

Bert
