Default Unleaded fuel only - sticker

Does everyone have this sticker on their gas gauge? Ive just recently seen it on a few cars. Was this from the factory?

Obviously placed there buy Porsche's legal team so if you were stupid enough to put diesel in your car, Porsche can say "We warned you not to do that", "now take your lawsuit somewhere else".

Porsche actually has option M150 for 911s sold in countries with leaded fuel (they don't get the warning sticker). It basically consists of catalytic converter bypasses and a special fuel calibration in the ECU.

That may be fact but it does not negate the legal reason for placing it on cars in countries with unleaded fuel only.

I think it's actually required by the EPA and dates back to the days when you could buy either leaded or unleaded gas at most stations. It wouldn't surprise me if removing the label constitutes "tampering" with the emissions system putting you at risk for a failed inspection from an overzealous smog inspector. I guess put the sticker removal in the same catagory as running without a front license plate...esthetically pleasing but with the potential to create headaches if you live in certain states.

Just based on the number of turbo owners that have over the years wondered why their catalytic converters have failed after running leaded race gas I'd say Porsche didn't use a large enough font. They usually start out with, "why are my exhaust tips all white?"

Mine is gone and I don;t miss it. As a matter of fact on both my cars it's gone and when I looked at the cars I recall a mental note that it was nice not seeing it - since it was on my 3.2 I never figured out how to get it off the 3.2 since I did not want to damage the gage face.

Mine had it, but it was the first mod I did after I bought the car.

The "Unleaded Fuel Only Debadge" mod. It was all a slipery slope from there on....
