I've been secretly suffering with an overly-stiff PSS9-993 for the past 9 months. That is, until I read this thread. Last night, I adjusted them from the initial setting of 4f/3r (since I had them installed, I haven't touched them), to full soft 9f/9r. It made a huge difference. The car not only is more comfortable than the stock setup over ANY bump, but it still handles better than the factory ROW M030. For street use, I am now convinced PSS9s are the best option. Adjustability is great!
I remember reading it, but I somehow forgot that the PSS9s are not 1:1 for each setting... 9 is much softer than 8, and 1 is much stiffer than 2. Here's how I think the settings would look on a linear stiffness scale:
(softer) 9------------8-7-6-5-4-3-2-------------1 (stiffer)

Interesting pcar964. I definitely want to have my car lowered however I don't want to sacrifice ride quality. The roads in Michigan are awful and I need a softer suspension. I'm still on the fence as to what I will eventually do. PSS9's are nice but I won't ne adjusting them since I won't be tracking the car. I was leaning towards ROWM033 and HD's but that does not sound like the right set up now.
There's nothing wrong with my shocks. I wonder if I can just put the ROWM033 springs on with my current shocks. That might get me the ride height I want but without sacrificing ride quality. HMMMMM

Three Wheelin'
When I first got my car (at 78k miles), the first thing that I did was to buy some Eibach springs and install them over the OEM monroes (installed new at the 60k service) to get the car lowered. That was before I started reading Rennlist, and realized there were better options out there. I can say that the ride is pretty close to stock, but still gives you the lowered look. There were some threads that I read here on RL about Eibachs sagging over time, but mine haven't in the last two years. These are not mine, and I have no affiliation with the seller, but there is a new set on eBay right now.
I am now looking for something a bit firmer and more more performance oriented. The slope keeps getting steeper !

That's a great point and exactly my concern. If the PSS9s are set to pick the small stuff, they may be too soft on the larger bumps. What I'm looking for is a shock with more progressive action.

Extremely popular with a few of the sports car groups in the states over the last three yeas or so, I had them on my S2000.
