Yeah the front bumper on the 964s looks heavy, I think that with the turbo flares it balances out that big bumper perfectly for a great look.

Adrian Streather's book, "Porsche 993 - The Essential Companion" specifies some of the differences between the 964 & 993 on pages 15 & 16. He basically says that the 993 was designed to address concerns that Porshce management had regarding the noise level associated with the 964 rear suspension and its tendancy to be tail happy. In addition, they changed the valve adjustment system from a mechanical system on the 964 to a hydraulic system thereby reducing maintenance expense, and the gear box switched to a 6 speed versus the 5. The body style was altered as well with the rear end on the 993 being wider than the 964. There is other stuff as well, and somewhere in there it mentioned that about 85% of the component parts of the 993 were changed from the previous series. The 993 is virtually a totally different car than the 964 from the inside out. Anyway, those were some of the highlights. "The Essential Companion" is a great book which I found to be extremely useful.

I love the 964 turbo.
Oops, you're right. However, most of my points are also applicable to a 993 to 964T comparsion.

SA Mike, I love your 964T 3.6 in Signal Green. Beautiful car.

If you get the turbo you will spend every dime you have in trying to make it faster. It's just one of those things that happens when you own one. There's never enough HP. They are fantastic cars to drive but I would rather have a C2S then a 965. Either way, you can't go wrong. Good luck.
