Default OBC light problem with a difference...

Hi all,
I went into the dark garage the other evening and I noticed some light coming from the OBC display, not full bright and no characters but when you pull the fuse it goes dark. Everything is working well and I probably would not have noticed it if I had turned the light on as usual but should it do that? Has anyone noticed this on their car?

I spent an evening searching, I found plenty of great info on replacing blown globes and similar but nothing to answer this.

I would appreciate any advise I can get on this, thanks in advance.

Alan

I've fixed several OBC lights with defective BS170 transistors. Most cases have been flickering light even completely off. It is certainly possible that a failing transistor also could conduct, giving light even when it should be off.
Here's a thread explaining how to change the transistor:

It's the transistor. Needs to be replaced.
