I smacked a rim. Bent the lip almost all the way back to the face. It held air so I headed home before I lost the tire as well.

Great run anyway.

Many thanks to Bob and Arrwin for setting this up. And to Chuck and the others in the first group who let me hang with them, if only for one leg of the tour. I had a blast.

It's very unusual for a car group to accept "Outsiders" to any events, but you guys made me feel welcome.
Thank you all very much, I had a blast!

Chuck,

it was great you could join today. I was in the blue turbo in front of you.

Thanks for arranging a great run. Sorry I could not join for lunch. I had a blast.

Craig - the car looks and sounds amazing. Too bad about the rim.

It was nice to meet some of you and put a face to the car. put 327 miles on the pcar today got a nice workout after sitting for a while. quadcammer thats a pretty funny story just glad they didnt give you a hard time. anyone know the story with the older looking cop when we all where in the gas station he was across the street it looked like he was messing with people? I also want to thank everyone for being considerate and making it a safe event for all of us to enjoy for a long time plus many more.
Yeah, that was me he was bugging. Someone called in a complaint with my tag number, so he said, about unsafe passing. He questioned me, warned me not to lie, so I said yeah, I passed one car in a passing zone. I didn't think I did anything wrong. Then I showed him my deck of PBA cards and said, I'm a good boy usually, with a big grin. He harumphed and wandered off to his car for a while to run my papers, but I guess my clean license convinced him to let me off. Heh heh, if he only knew.

What was that one old guy who was flipping the bird at everyone saying, could anyone hear? I wonder if we woke him up....while he getting his mail Sunday.

Cool

"anyone know the story with the older looking cop when we all where in the gas station he was across the street it looked like he was messing with people?"

It was guy in a gray 928 w/ his family - the cop said he had gotten a complaint about hi-speed passing and was going to 'run his license'. I think he was just the only one left sitting in his car over there, and the officer was too wise to march across the street where the rest of us were - i don't think he got a ticket - which made me esp. happy, since I think I was the one that was that made the hi-speed pass he was talking about (on the way to Port Jervis)...

(edit - just read the above - OK, glad it wasn't me...)

Good thing he didn't grab me - i was parked over there too (black '86 Cab), and I'm never very cool around cops. Finally , a benefit of having to make too frequent pit stops..

Anyway, great morning - thanks to Aarwin & Bob - & nice driving w/ you guys

I'm really glad everyone enjoyed the route and the luncheon today. RT 55 is amazing and the views were beautiful especially around the never sink reservoir and overlooking the valley. Many people aren't aware of the NY state landscape and mountains. I'm looking forward to more pictures being posted.
