Angry UPDATE 9/6/07 Posted Pics. Car got KEYED...

After being quite pissed, for obvious reasons, my therapist said let it go.. (Just kidding) so I found a very reputable company that will take care of my car the proper way. The owner of the company owns a very nice Porsche Turbo Red Slant nose and Lambo. I figured while I’m getting the door fixed I mine as well have the front bumper’s little cracks fixed and painted. I This will happen tomorrow morning. I figured while its off I want to eliminate (fill in) the front bumperets. I’ve done a quick search on how to fill in, but didn’t seem to find a “this is how to do it”. Anyone have any good links.
I need to print it out and take it to him by tomorrow morning by 8:00 AM. Any help is appreciated.

I’ll post pic’s when finished. Cheers-

I’m so pissed!!! My car got keyed by some scum sucking pig of a person.. To that person who did this. I hope you die of a venereal disease…

With that said, I pulled my car out of the garage yesterday to wash it. I get out and do the usual walk around just to look and pull little peaces of dirt or grim away from the paint. I get around to the passenger door and noticed something that looked like a 10” to 12 inch string of white gum stuck to the door. What I found was a 12 inch key / sharp object scratch in a convenient “S” pattern. No one deserves this!!!! I never ever take two parking spaces and do my best to avoid any advertising and I usually park in the back 40. Why do this to someone?

So now I’m looking for some advice on finding a shop in Oregon (probably in Eugene or Portland) that will know how to fix it correctly. I had Precision Body & Paint (Portland Oregon) look at it and they suggested painting the whole right side. They seem to know what they are talking about but is that really necessary?

Help! My car is a 96 993 Black / Black C4S with 65k miles. The paint is all-original and in pristine condition. Suggestions. I’ll post pics later..

Sorry to hear about this Devin...but to hell with a venereal disease. Ever see the movie 'Casino Royale' of 007 fame? "The Chair" torture that 007 had to endure seems a better punishment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about your car. I really don't understand why would someone do such a coward act. Goodluck with your repair.

I have seen a shop that routinely repaired such injuries by progressively building the paint back up to above level with several pin point airbrushed coats - and then buffing out when cured: could not see a trace of the scratches after the repair ... and the original paint was preserved.

One thing going for you - black is easy to match:^) It could also be wet sanded and polished out??? Hopefully. Maybe the shop can even fill the scratch - let it dry - then wet sand it out??? You might get an entire car sand & polish to ensure eveness of the repaired area with the rest of the car. I truly eel for ya' man...

Bummer. But I'd take this over a traffic accident or hitting road debris anyday!

Garth and Marlon are right on. A GOOD detail shop should be able to sand and buff or if it's too deep, build it up and buff it out.

Good Luck!

PS: If you let this little thing eat you up and **** you off, you let the vandals win. Just get in, fire it up and go for a spirited drive to put a smile on your face. That's what it is for!

Default Key Job

Not so sure anyone would randomly key a nice Porsche. Might want to consider who might not be happy with you currently or has shown jealousy regarding your nice car. Definitely a cowardly act at best.

.....because whoever did this is a loser. He was a loser before he did it, he's still a loser today, and the odds are about 100:1 he'll still be a loser when his cardboard casket finally rolls into the crematorium.

FWIW I had the front of my Volvo (173,000 miles, original clutch) resprayed because of stone chips and they still had to do some fancy blending on adjacent panels because the paint had faded. And the car is white.

As vandalism, this should come under your insurance comprehensive. So at least you should only be out of pocket for the deductible.

Devon, any chance you were parked in a public place such as a supermarket or bank? It's a long shot but if you were perhaps it was caught on a security camera. The best payback would be for the scumbag to be caught and forced to pay damages.

Why people damage other people's property is beyond me? My wife's new 550i got key on the top of the hood. Thank goodness the scratches arent deep. I just try QUIXX repair system. It didnt really remove the scratches but does help alot. Going to work on my car tomorrow after a nice car wash.

Jealous idiots... Sorry to hear that happened to you. I wait each month for someone to do this to me too. It's almost inevitable, at sometime in our Porsche owning lives that someone's going to do something unthinkably a**holeish to our cars.

I feel your pain man! My Acura TL 06(daily driver) got smashed by several grocery carts at an Apple Bee's next to a Lowes. That specific day, I had my TL detailed to the max and was thinking of going out on the P-car. People do that out of plain old jealously.
