Default Can anybody tell from the photos if my alternator/fan pulleys are updated???

Can you tell if they are the updated parts??? I disconnected my a/c belt this weekend t/s'ng a belt sqeak. Before I put it back together I'd like to update the alt/fan pulleys first if I they have not been updated. I replaced the belt sensor last week, but still have a little "creak - creak - creak..." noise from the a/c belt. I'm hoping it was mis-aligned - so I'm still assessing it. Thx!

Marlon,
You have the old style. The revised pulley integrated the washer and pulley half as one. In your picture, it shows a nut, a chamfered washer, and the pulley.

Order the correct parts through Sunset - it's an easy fix.

Clewett offers a similar setup for 993's with or w/o A/c. It's 695 bucks.

clewett.com

it's under "specialty items". looks very nice, but that's a lot of money to fix something that isn't broken.

This is a sweet setup, and is available for 993s with A/C as well. Imagine no more shims or broken belts. And the ability to replace the belt in minutes....

I think this is a nice looking system. Mabye we can get Clewett to send us a photo of the a/c setup. Or even better, a GB!?!? ..slippery slope again...

Straight from Richard Clewett:

According to him, all pulleys will now come in black only.

Pretty sweet. But $695 sweet? How about you do the RS pully mod and mount a $40 tensioner yourself?

Jon,
Not changing anything to my stock set-up - just found the Clewett design very interesting.
