I'm about to embark on a M030 upgrade. Any recommendations for shops in San Diego? I'm in North SD County. From what I have read about 6 hrs labor plus parts (VB or Gert) plus alignment.

Black Forest has a good reputation in the area. I was very pleased with the PPI they did on my car -- thorough, easy to deal with, and seemed quite competent.

I have had recent experience with Black Forest. Although they specialize in Porsches, they work on BMW's, too. The shop had about two dozen Porsches in it, including the Klaser Tile turbo that recently won the POC Tribute to Le Man, which they prepared and maintain. About a month ago, they did a PPI on a '98 M3 and some minor repair work on it. Jeff and John were very customer-oriented and concerned that the work was done to my satisfaction, especially because I live 90 miles from the shop. Their price was fair, and the car was finished within the time they specified. It's reasonable to assume they'd have the same attitude about Porsches. (I'm not affiliated with them in any way.)

For suspension work everyone in the San Diego PCA club goes to Mirage International. Jae Lee is a master technician for all porsche suspensions, but really specializes in 911's

Every single 993 that regularly wins class at ax/de's/tt's & club races here in San Diego was set up by Jae Lee @ Mirage Intl.

I personally consider him to be the best 993 suspension guy in CA. Look at my signature
