Hey All,
Has anyone found a better belt than the Gates one for sale anywhere ? The one I got from Pelican last week were marked Gates. Maybe Gates is the only one makeing them now ? And does anyone have the part number info for the bearings (hoping I won't need 'em, but good info to have handy).
TIA
Glenn

Maximo993,
Is Autohaus's belt a Porsche or Bosch item? When I blow up their website photo, it has the same markings as the Gates belt I just got.

SOOOO,
I take it that no one has had any luck finding a dist belt made by someone other than Gates ?.? I'm still looking for bearing part numbers if anyone has them. Thanks,
Glenn

I sent mine to Mark Cohen, linked in an above post, and he mailed me a rebuilt one beforehand, so my car wouldn't be down long. I just sent him mine as soon as I had installed his. Best $150 I ever spent.

ok - I went out to remove the distributors to send to Mark in Atlanta, and according to the 993DIY you just put a 24mm wrench on the fan nut to turn the engine. Well, I guess I need new belts because the pulley just spins on the belt. Any other ideas about how to rotate the engine by hand?

Or, while turning the alt pulley, squeeze one of the belts around the pulley with your other hand to increase friction. Make sure the car is not in gear
