Default RS Battery Cutoff Parts

Has anyone added the RS battery cutoff to their 993. Any of the guys that have a real RS that has the cutoff care to share photo's of the interior and trunk install.

I am wanting to add a battery cutoff to my car and what to keep it looking original. I have seen the cutoff parts in the PET catalog but I have not seen one up close. I want to add the interior cutoff to the spot next to the headlight switch.

The big question I have is if it will kill the power completely and is it DME safe. I know that there is a newer kill switch that has the electronics and DME safe but I wanted to hear about the RS kit.

Thanks for the photo. So is it just a pull strip in the interior attached to the cutoff switch in the trunk. For some reason I thought the interior had a turn style switch as well.

Also, are there any DME related parts. I though there are issues with a live alternator and radio code resets if it's not isolated correctly.

Just a pull handle on the dash, which yanks the lever attached to the battery cut off.....to reset you have to open the luggage lid and turn the cut out on by hand before power is restored. Cup/supercup, RSR race cars also have second cable attatched to a handle situated externally on the near side windscreen scuttle.

Not aware of any DME related parts, certainly no provisions for radios, they are not fitted to CS or cup cars....you would never hear them

For alternator protection you want to put in a resistor and need a cutoff switch that can accommodate that configuration. Your radio code will need to be entered when you restore power.

here's an article on installation

Do you think you will actually be pulling the lever then??...I have never shut down the car this way while running, the only occasions I have turned the electrical cut out to "off" is when I have left the car for extended periods of time,,partly as a security measure...surely it is 90% image / 10% function ?

Your right, I agree with the 90/10 functionality. After I asked the question it came to me that this is more for a track related emergency and not my primary means of shutting down the car.
