I have a little more interest in the Grand Am Rolex Series being my little cousin is running a GT Class 2007 997 which he placed 2nd this weekend at Seca. I knew it was supposed to be televised Sunday @ 4pm. So all hyped up to watch it and all they are showing is the DP cars live. i guess they have changed the race format and seperate the classes now, at least the last 2 races i have taken time to watch have been that way, what bull crap. They used to run the 2 classes together. I think the DP cars are ok, and have a fondness for Haywood and the Brumos History, but they are not what i am partial too. i am sure that you, like myself, like to watch cars that we relate too and have sitting in our garages or run at the track. Speed is going to televise the GT class race a WEEK LATER the 26th????. I guess i dont understand..... when it comes to ticket sales and TV viewing i would think that there are many more people would and are going to watch the 911 based GT cars that equate to car sales than some ultra tech cars that are uncommon to each other and us. My opinion

Its still probably a small number of people overall as far as ratings and thats the name of the game in TV.
I view the NASCAR coverage on SPEED pretyy much the same way that I view Porsche selling the Cayenne.
If it pays the bills and allows me to have what I want (i.e. F1, ALMS, Rolex Coverage and Sports Cars) so be it.
I have sat the the SPEED production booth during the production of an F1 race (their studio is about 1/2 mile from my office) ... trust me ... they would MUCH rather run road course coverage than NASCAR.
well i thats for sure about the Nascar thing....i used despise the obnoxious bickering Pinks and Unique Whips i tolerate them now just because its not another boring Nascar show. i am sure they werent going to disrupt any thing Nascar related this Saturday afternoon which is when the GT race was held, but i cant believe they will air it next weekend with all of the other racing going on.
Nascar owners, part owners whatever, the France family own the Grand Am series as well.. Yep I kinda wish speed would just start a NASCAR channel and put WRC, DTM other stuff on speed as well as F1, AMA, Motogp, etc..
In the 80's ESPN(not even 2) used to show Supercup, DTM, F3, BTCC, and all the european races but now it's getting harder and harder to watch them at all. Thx to NASCAR and that kinda SUCKS!

What a Fantastic Idea!!! I will email that to them, probably fall on deaf ears. but, what the hey!! it will just add to my bitch session to them yesterday.
