Default 964 v 993 Windshield Affixing Method

I am replacing my windshield. My mechanic tells me that the method used for affixing the windshield in 964s is superior to that which was used for 993s. He is suggesting that I go with the 964 method. Has anyone heard this before?

Thanks,

The main difference looks to be a one-piece seal (964) versus a two-piece (993)?

Thanks Jason,

The instructions show the 964 seal to be made out of rubber and the 993 seal to be made out of plastic. This jogs my memory. My mechanic mentioned that the plastic seal had a tendency to crack over time and was therefore less effective. I was wondering whether anyone could confirm this.

Thanks,
