Sold my 993 C2 a couple months ago and have been looking for a C2S or a C4S as the new car. After emailing basically every ad on autotrader, cars.com etc etc finally decided on one to see in person. Flew down to the Baltimore airport Saturday morning and was picked up by the very kind owner. Went to his house and drove the car for about 20 miles and knew this was a solid machine Back to his house, made the deal and was treated to a home cooked meal for lunch for which I was very greatful. Ended up driving the 7 hours back home in the same day.

The C4S and the C2 are obviously 2 very different cars. The C4S definetly feels more planted and does not dance around in the lane at all while driving down the highway. The steering is verrrrry heavy but I like it very much. The big red brakes are um pretty ridiculous, too. Just a slight tap on the brake pedal slows the car down. The car has some very nice options like full leather seating, dual full power seats, the silver faced gauges, and the trip computer which told me I was getting 21.5 mpg on the way home haha.

My only questions at this time are:
it seems as though some bulbs for my gauges might be blown out because it wasnt as bright as my black faced gauges on my C2. The trip computer couldnt be seen at all when it was fully dark out. Is it supposed to be back lit??

and with the AWD system, when slowing down for a stop sign or red light...is it normal to have that "winding down" drivetrain noise when slowing? It isnt loud by any means, but you can hear it obviously.

Thanks!
Time to wax the car. Never had a black car before so this should be interesting!
Oh and here are some pictures because I know that is popular here

Congratulations

I love it. So much for all the PPI advice.

In 2002 when I got mine, I drove the car for less then 20 miles, loved it and made a deal. It was at the Porsche dealer in town, but it was still a used car. Nver got her up on a lift, nerver looked at a service record, just fell in love and paid for it.

5 years later, I still love it and have done NOTHING but maint to it.

My OBC went blank too...ended up replacing the whole tach...got scared by dealer. There are bulbs that can be replaced or you can send it out to Palo Alto Speedometer. I have never used them but guys on PCA say they are good. Website is www.paspeedo.com. Good luck and nice car.

Yep...what Lumpy said....but I think if its like a 964 you need to take the steering wheel off to do it. I had mine done at NHS...guys are awesome.

Did the exact same thing (but my drive was 14 hours over 2 days). Mine started out looking just like that. Enjoy the car and try not to go to crazy attempting to keep it clean......won't happen. Just drive and enjoy. And when the car starts to feel slow to you, just disconnect the front drive tube at the tranny for a refreshing kick in the pants of newly released power
