993 horn return bushings
Has anyone had any experience swapping out the Horn Return Bushing on a 993 retaining frame. This is an alternative to buying a new retaining frame and airbag for the 1995 model.

Oh Yaaaaa!!!!! They are saying that if you have a 95' 993 you have to buy a new Airbag Retaining Frame and a new Airbag(expensive). Zim's offers the bushing only, but looking at the frame. They look as if the are machine pressed into place.

Just had mine done, and the indy I used was able to get the frame without having to get the airbag. I watched him install it and from what I could tell it was new. I know it's possible to do this.

Bill, you've done a search, right? People have discussed the possibility of replacing just the bushings, but I don't know offhand if anyone has done it. A search might help you figure out who's done it. Good luck.

It's an remove and replace for the 96-98's. The 95' has a different frame and of course it isn't manufactured anymore. They want you to update the 95's with the later model frames and that requires a new airbag.

I only had the frame replaced. My C4S is a 96. My indy informed me that the dealer would require a replacement of the frame and airbag, but he would replace the frame only.
