Neil,
Mine turned more than half a turn or I would have probably done something as well. It did get tight fast, but I figured it was worth turning it as tight as I could since you'll never see under it anyway.
Eclou,
That is the TechArt phone package which come with the custom mounting bracket and the cradle on it is removable to put whatever you want on it. Also, the mounting bracket is covered in leather and black Porsche factory carpet. I have a Bluetooth phone, so I actually just had mine removed and I am trying to decide what to do with it myself. Hadn't thought about mounting something else. Hmmm....
Ag02M5, I think I did take some. I'll check.
dbf73, since the factory leather is underneath (it might be vinyl, but looks like leather) I used exttremely thin 3M douvle sided tape. It is good and sticky, but will not harm anything underneath. I did not use glue. Also, don't forget that the piece behind the gauges is held in with pressure from the gauges. The e-brake trey and center console storage trey are screwed in and actually replace the old part. The only pieces taped are the dashboard (not counting gaurge surround) but even the two big pieces that slide behind the steering wheel are pretty much held in with pressure. You only have to really tape the outer edge of those two pieces around the headlight switch and the stereo and A/C controls. From there the airbag pcover and the end pices do have to be taped on.

Ag02M5,
I just looked and apologize, but I dod not take pictures of the parts preinstallation, only the dashboard itself.
The good news is a distinctly remember seeing a picture that another board member took of the exact same parts. Serach for "carbon fiber marcus" on the 993 board and I think you'll find it.-

LOL!!
I'll be happy to try just so we can hang out and party! Not many 993TT's are GT3's around Nashvegas, but are getting more 993 all the time and I love it!

You are more than welcome!
GREAT NEWS! I exchanged e-mails with Marcus and he is more than willing to just send me the replacement parts. He said the ones I received were factory size, but did not even argue about simply sending me ones that are custom fit to my specs via measurement by cm's. What are great guy...
My friends, that's called great customer service in any language.
For those who want to order something from him, his e-mail is marcusbuehler911@web.de
Tell him I sent you. I am about to order more. :-)

Paul,
Forgive my lack of memory, but it was your Midnight Blue/Cashmere 993TT I almost bought, right? Man, I had a hard, hard, hard time not buying your car, but with the biggest car purchase of my life I had to stick with Red. But man, your car was BAD A$$. I understand why you miss it.
If it makes you feel better, since then I have bought a 2002 M5 (imola red) and a 1999 M3 convertible (bright red). I think I have red problem..... ;-)

Good guess, CHarlie! K40 radar detector put in by the P.O. It has front and rear radar sensors, and is hooked into a light in the oil gauge that blinks with one sound if the signal is from the front, and a light in the clock assembly blinks with a different sound if they are coming from behind. Pretty cool.
That **** has two parts. The top dial is simply vloume and the base ring behind it switches to the left for highway, and to the right for city, and to the center for the off position.
There is also a light down in the console switches if you look closely. That light turns green for highway, and yellow for city, and is off if I switch the mode to the center. The installer drilled it into the only unused switch of the 6 on the console. It's the center switch. Very stealth...
Kinda funny actually, since I use a V1. Sometimes I forget to pull my V1 out of another car and don't remember until I am halfway to my destination that there is a radar detector built into the car. :-)
