Question Detailing question: What clay bar brand to use?

I am getting ready for a detailing job and the use of a clay bar seems to be a popular option. I am ready to give it a shot.

1. What brand do you use?
2. Where can you buy it?

Thanks,
Erik

Go to Autozone, Pepboys or Advance and get Clay Magic, it's as good or better than the rest (and cost less).

I have very good results with 3M clay bar a bit more pricy but worth it .
Just stay away from (hot) clay bars ,meaning some clay are so strong it will damage the clear coat . There`s lots inexpensive clay bars around the 15 dollar area that I would stay away from .

Cheers Guy

Griot's. It came with other stuff I ordered and I never thought I'd use it, but I did and the thing is amazing. It's the only one I've ever used, so I can't really compare it with any others.

Why clay bar rather than a rubbing compound?

Leander

Clay bar vs. compounds have different uses for detailing.

Clay bar removes embedded dirt from the paint without scratching or leaving "sleeks".

Compound is used to polish out sleeks or worse.
