I'll second Griots. I've used the Mothers and Meguires prior. The Griots is so much easier to work with.

Do not want to highjack but those of you with clear bras (be it Invinica-shield or whatever): Do you detail the covered parts? E.g do you polish the clear bra itself and wax it? I would believe so but just wondered whether the clear bra gets any special treatments? Clay bar works fine on the plastic film as well? TIA

I find using Griots clay with their Speed Shine product to be a great combination.

I found Griot's and the 3M bar with proper spray lubrication to work very well.

And I use the "golden" clay bar from Pep Boys. It
comes with spray detailer for lubricant.

1. Zaino. Like all their products, outstanding.
2. Griot's

Used "Shining Monkey" (purple) bar on a black car recently. Expensive f*cking pice of crap. It was a do-over.

Thumbs down to the Mequiar's bar too. Most of their stuff is decent, but that one was a "miss".

I have the Griot's bar and it's great, but one tip: you don't need the expensive Speed Shine as your lubricant. Soapy water does the trick and costs next to nothing.

There are some variations in clay bars, but not much.

I wouldn't make a huge science out of the clay bar selection. I suspect many that have echoed the "Zaino" recommendation are referring more to the polishing products than to the clay bars themselves.

Yes, I love Zaino stuff, but trust me, that doesn't cloud my judgment on this. I've used enough clay bars to know that there's a definite difference between a good one and a crappy one, both in ease of use and in the result.

Congrats on your concours success.

And don't forget the abrasive. If you pick the right (whatever that means) brand but the wrong abrasive, you won't be happy.
