Rear Tires: MY95
Any truth to MY95's eating rear tires at an increated rate relative to MY96 and above?

Specs smecks. The TTs eat rears at an alarming rate, but methinks that has more to do with, oh, something other than alignment
Get a good alignment from a good shop that KNOWS 993s. There is a window of alignment parameters you could go with, and remember there's no "one" perfect setting as it's all a compromise between tread life and road holding. And as Craig said, kinematic toe is important, especially for rear-suspension feel/solidity during cornering. FWIW, I can get 15-18K miles on rears, combo highway and aggressive street driving, but I also don't do burnouts or stoplight battles

Any alignment shop will simply know to align your car according to '96+ specs, so there really should be nothing to worry about.

LOL! And thanks for that correction, Eric. I "suspected" kinematic affected treadwear; thanks for clarifying. I will also be certain to check underwear periodically as this has been known to affect the butt dyno.
