^ can't accept the fact that 993s were hand-made and 996s are not.

^ also can't seem to grasp the idea of Porsche's marketing team using a video of both cars on the same assembly line to give the IMPRESSION of being built the same way.

^ also can't figure out that just because two cars are partially assembled in the same building, doesn't necessarily mean the quality of both cars must therefore be equal.

^ Just can't let it go.

Fun vid. My German is terrible but the voiceover does talk about one line to build all models from 911 to boxster.

I was in Stutgaart in Sept 01 at the factory (Flew on that infamous day from the UK to NZ) and I saw a handfull of Boxters rolling off the line at the same time.
Who cares anyway.
I liked the bit where they take the engines if for testing. They really let em rip too.

PCAR, delusional as ever. Even with proof your own eyes can see, you still refuse to believe it. I can't help you. You're beyond help. As for others, this is a fun video to watch.

Please steer your kids, when and if you find someone to have kids with, away from Texas, we don't need people like you.

98% of them are
Not when this video was made. They started to make them in Finland when they under-estimated the popularity of the Boxster and ran out of production space in Stuttgart.

That's ok, I never get the point (or agree at all with the political bent) of pcar964 's posts - that doesn't mean that I do not get enjoyment from them...

Proof of what? That they did partial assembly of Boxsters and 993s in the same plant? Sure I believe it. But what does that have to do with build quality, which has been your point from the beginning?

Your conveniently over-simplified logic reminds me of the "No War For Oil" fruitcakes, of which I'm sure you're one.

Who's the dude in the painting in your avatar ? Judging from his hair he is Mr. Lucas, inventor of the short circuit.

It's Kramer from Seinfeld. Classic episode where he gets his portrait made and some rich snooty couple buy it. 'He sickens me...'!

Correct, I just answered the question. Valmet automotive now does 'all' the Cayman's too. They still do some of them in Stuttgart but the quality of Finnish Porsches is actually better.

Here's couple of factory photos, one from 993 assembly line and one from Boxster assembly line.

Fun video, Porsche also built some 993s & 996s at the same time (was this news to you that 993 & Boxster were sold at same time?) but there really was a lot of difference in a way they were built, and the cost of building them was hugely different. What's better way to market new Porsche model than saying 911 Turbo and Boxster are the "same"?

I have to admit I have hard time figuring out why you're so much against 993 vs. never Porsches?
Nothing wrong with liking whatever you like but trying to convince others is kinda like those Jehova's who knock on eveyone's door trying to convert them.
