Whoops, Travis! ? I only specified H1 type bulb when I bought and received an email from the seller asking for the bulb temperature desired. There was no mention of the wiring type. I'm assuming it has to do with whether there are relays, or not? Hope I get the right one.
You boys didn't read my email. I told you H1 bulb, 4300k color, and no relays. Pay attention!

Are you sure they're not halogen bulbs (which are commonly 55W) branded as Xenon or similar marketing nonsense?
The new version of HID are actually 55w hid bulbs and ballasts.
The following chart shows a lumen comparison.
Color - Description - 35 watt Lumens - 50 watt Lumens
3000k - yellow - 3200 - 4000
4500k - Pure white- 3400 - 4200
5000k - White w/ blue -3300 -4100
6000k - White violet hue - 3200 - 4000
8000k - Sky blue - 3100 - 3900

Does anyone have any experience with:

I was able to get the both plug ends through without ripping the grommet. I'm sure there is no problem with the ballasts in the headlight but given how cheap these are and the potential for something to short and overheat I kind of like having them where I can keep an eye on them.
I was concerned with that as well, so I fused the ballasts on the + side. I also measured the heat generated by the ballasts, they really don't get very hot, the passenger heat side is dominated by the oil cooler, not the ballast.

Hey grmnxtc,
I just did my HID conversion upgrade. Your pictures helped me cut through the BS and knock the job out.
Kinda fun, really.
Anyway, I got my PROMAX kit off Ebay for $99.99, including shipping. Looks just like yours.
Can hardly wait for it to get dark outside so I can really try it out (just like when I was a kid at Halloween.)
Thanks again for the great photos, etc.

CarreraX, seller on Ebay is hidsin. His business is United Xenon. Look up Ebay item 120191501786; says $119 but when I went in to buy I was only charged $99.99. Look on his Ebay store and you'll find kit for H-1 bulb. Hope that helps.

Works great! Had to fiddle around a little packing everything into headlight unit to get them to adjust aim properly, but unbelievable improvement over stock headlights.

Yep - I bought these (and a set for my WRX too) - I haven't installed them yet - will do over the holidays but they look good and well packed.

Will report back when done.
