My buddy has my first 911 for sale, but it's an '81 so a little older than your carrera preference. Fun car though!

And yes, I was simply referrring to the picture where everyone's car is parked and yours is the only one with a wing down. Just symmetry in photos, no big deal. Don't worry, we won't change your native name to "Broken Wing"; or wait....maybe we will!

Great time guys.

As for shops, I really like Music City Porsche & Audi. It is the only shop in town I take my car to. Their number is 255-2658 and they are located on 8th Avenue near downtown (Franklin Road turns into 8th Ave in case you didn't know). Also, Wicky, who is the one who is giving the turbocharging presentation we are all meeting up to go see, is the preferred mechanic in town for many Rennlisters. IIRC, he used to work at Brumos. I'm sure Robert Collins can give you his contact information. Either way, I think you'll be in good hands! The only place I would avoid is the dealer- most our bad but ours is especially.
Brendan, sorry i missed the group, from what i am reading it sounds like fun. I called the number listed above and could not get an answer, do you have a different number. Also i looked up Music City Porsche & Audi and did not find anything on the web or 411. Are they called music city moters? (these guys are in brentwood).

thanks Ron

It's Music City P & A, was originally Porsche and Audi but they had to change the name (on threats from Porsche?).

LOL!!! I love the new name Bill!

Ron, Music City P&A used to be right off of 8th Ave So. (Franklin Rd) just south of downtown Nashville. i don't know if they are still in that location or not. I wouldn't know because I use Wicky, who is at 226-4928. You really can't go wrong with either guy. They both have stellar reputations and both know their stuff.

Music City Motorsports is car sales and some costomization stuff, but they don't work on cars. Great place though. Sean Petty has a great reputation there.

Man- now that song is stuck in my head.

Ron- for some reason P&A was closed yesterday and is closed today- they will reopen tomorrow. I only know because I spent 30 minutes yesteday loading up my V710s and spare wheels to have the tires mounted only to find them closed. Sometimes it pays to call! After meeting Wicky on Saturday and seeing his shop, I know he is also the real deal. As Robert said, you'll be in good hands either way.

I get songs stuck in my head all the time and it's always songs I don't like, why is that? Fortunately that one's not sticking.

Robert, you have PM re: your PO'd '81 SC.

Since this thread can't get any more off topic anyway - Where should I go to get some PS2s put on my car? Order from Tirerack or buy them from who's mounting them?

Any thoughts on who would treat my Speedlines right and can balance a tire?

I like P&A for mounting tires. A few years back they scratched one of my wheels and paid to have it refinished w/o any argument once I pointed it out. I have bad experiences other places. I usually order from Tire Rack.

+1 regarding Music City P&A for tire mounting, balancing and alignments. I do the same thing as Brendan. Order the tires from Tire Rack and have them shipped to Music City P&A. They are a preferred installer and listed on Tire Rack's site. I have gone through about three sets of tires on my 993 in the last few years, and I've had all of them installed by Andrew. I have the Millennium Edition Carrera (turbo twist) chromed wheels on my 993, and I've never had any issues or drama with regard to my wheels. Andrew is one of the few places in our area that does dependable alignments too. Can someone confim if he has one of the Hunter 2000 machines?

Hey P,
Sounds like Andrew is a great option. As a backup, I use Gateway Tire in Cool Springs for my TT and my M5. They are always VERY, VERY careful. I spelled out my expectations up front and they have always been great.

If you call them (615-771-7080) ask for John in sales. (No affiliation, yada yada) Tell him I sent you , and insist that Larry (30 year veteran, does all their 18" plus installs) install them. He is batting 1,000 for me after 5 years. (knock on wood, of course)

Believe it or not, I actually had a Michelin Dealer in town say, "Oh yeah, we don't guarantee anything. Sometimes wheels get damaged when tires are installed. Our guys put forth their best effort, but if a wheel is damaged, that's part of the deal. But, don't worry, our guys never scratch a wheel". They scratched a wheel while I was there (someone else's - lucky for them).

Thanks, but you'll never see my a$$ again. I liked the guy too, but overconfidence and cockiness don't equate to my best interests.

I used Gateway back in the day and they came highly recommended.

Rick- I wish I thought to ship my wheels to Andrew. I picked up a beater pickup a few weeks back so that I can haul tires and the like, but before that I had to take wheels 2 at a time in the Beemer. Oh well.

Hey Brendan,

I am going to have Carter install some shocks and upgraded brakes before I get out to AX, but I think Jeremy was telling me that there is a DE this weekend. And I also read something at Pelican about a P-meet on the Trace soon (some of you probably already know, but I will post something here if I hear more info).

If any of you guys are in Franklin and want to meet up (or go get a beer at the Pub downtown) give me a call 498-2366.

Take care,
Darrell
